Gas-detection system. When hazardous production material gas is used or dispensed
and the physiological warning properties for the gas are at a higher level than
the accepted permissible exposure limit for the gas, a continuous gas-monitoring
system shall be provided to detect the presence of a short-term hazard condition.
When dispensing occurs and flammable gases or vapors may be present in quantities
in excess of 20 percent of the lower explosive limit, a continuous gas-monitoring
system shall be provided. The monitoring system shall be connected to the emergency
